ARTS 14C offers artists the rare opportunity to live, work, and grow their careers within a vibrant 125,000-square-foot creative campus in Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District. Combining subsidized loft-style studios, professional facilities, and a supportive community of artists and cultural leaders, the residency is designed to help artists create ambitious work, build meaningful connections, and thrive.
The ARTS 14C Fellowship Residency provides artists with the time, space, and community needed to deepen their practice and advance their careers. Our flagship live/work fellowship spans 12 months, allowing artists to fully engage with the residency experience while building meaningful connections with fellow residents and the broader arts community.
Fellowships begin quarterly on March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. A limited number of 3-month fellowships are available for international artists facing visa restrictions and for artists whose circumstances make a shorter residency a better fit.

ARTS 14C’s Special Project Residencies are fully funded, short-term opportunities that support the creation of new work, research, and experimentation. Lasting from 4 to 11 weeks, these residencies are often organized around specific themes, projects, or disciplines, such as textile, fiber, and fashion arts, and provide artists with focused time and resources to advance their practice.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the start of their residency.
For Fellowship Residencies, participation is offered at a subsidized rate, with program fees beginning at $2,046 per month for a private live/work studio. Residents who choose shared accommodations typically pay approximately $1,200 per month per artist.
Program fees are all-inclusive and cover housing, studio space, utilities, and participation in residency programming, professional development opportunities, and community events. There are no additional charges for utilities or required programming.
Program fees are subsidized to make access to live/work space, professional development, and creative community in the New York metropolitan area more accessible to artists at a range of career stages.
