Art Pantry 14C collects surplus materials and puts them into the hands of artists – for free.

We rescue usable materials from film and television productions, businesses, organizations, and individuals, and make them available to artists, arts educators, and nonprofit organizations throughout our creative community.
Less waste. More art. More possibilities.
Art Pantry 14C began with a remarkable donation of materials from a film and television production – resources that might otherwise have ended up in a landfill.
That donation revealed an opportunity: New York and New Jersey generate an enormous amount of material through film productions, businesses, events, construction, and other industries, while artists and educators are often paying significant amounts for those very same resources.
Art Pantry 14C connects the two.
Since launching in February 2026, the program has redistributed the equivalent of eight 18-wheeler truckloads of materials to more than 600 artists, giving useful materials a second life while helping creative people make more and spend less.
Throughout the year, ARTS 14C accepts donations of usable materials and organizes them for creative reuse.
Resident artists at ARTS 14C have ongoing access to the Art Pantry, while periodic public Art Pantry distribution events open the program to artists, educators, nonprofit organizations, and creative makers from across Jersey City and the surrounding region.
Everything distributed through the Art Pantry is free – though we do put a limit on the amount an individual or organization can take, in order to insure there is enough for everyone.
We keep good materials out of the waste stream and get them into artists’ studios..
