Leo Castañeda (b. 1988, Colombia) is a multimedia artist and video game designer whose practice examines Latin American Surrealism through a digital lens. Working across episodic games and immersive installations, he combines atmospheric painting, video, mixed reality, wearables, and sculpture into expansive, layered worlds.

Castañeda is a recipient of the Knight Foundation Arts + Technology Fellowship, YoungArts Artist Technology Fellowship, Emergent Strategy Ideation Institute Praxis Project Fellowship, Ellies Creator Award, and a Harpo Foundation grant. He has been in residence at SOMA Mexico City, Oolite Arts, and Khoj International Artists Association in New Delhi.

His work has been presented at institutions including the Pérez Art Museum Miami, Bronx Museum of the Arts, Haus der elektronischen Künste Basel, Museu do Amanhã in Rio de Janeiro, Locust Projects Miami, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and Museo de Arte Moderno La Tertulia in Colombia, among others. Coverage of his practice has appeared in PBS, Rhizome, Vice, Hyperallergic, Spike Art Magazine, and New American Paintings, and he is currently a resident at the Bakehouse Arts Complex in Miami.
